This last month I have upgraded my lenovo s10 netbook to run Ubuntu 8.10. I'm very pleased with all aspects of ubuntu, especially:
Synaptic Package Manager
Workspaces
Bookmarks
Most of the hardware works with the default install, but the microphone and sound were very awkward to configure for use with Skype. The wired network connection appears to freeze, not really a problem as I mainly use the wireless connection.
